DROP-IN CENTER

The vision of The Place of Hope, Healing, and Restoration (TPHHR) 5-year Strategic Plan includes working with the District of Columbia government and other partners to end long-term homelessness in the District of Columbia for youth and young adults. One of the key strategies to move towards that vision was to provide programs and services that would offer young people facing a housing crisis a safe place to form bonds with caring adults and access essential resources for their overall well-being.

TPHHR’s primary goal is to get homeless youth into safe and permanent housing. The Drop-In Center will operate from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM and will serve homeless youth ages 16-25.  The Drop-In Center will provide a meal, games, and hygiene packs which will include basic toiletries and supplies. Each participant will be assigned to a Case Manager who will work with the participant to develop an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) with specific short-term objectives linking them to community resources working towards securing long-term housing.

TPHHR Drop-In Center services will also include basic necessities such as food, clothing, personal care items, and access to phones and computers. Laundry Cards will be made available to assist program participants with washing and drying their clothing free of charge. The goal for the grand opening of the TPHHR Drop-In Center is the second quarter of 2023. We will keep you updated via our website with highlights as we move closer to the date of the grand opening.
