WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND JOB SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM

The Place of Hope, Healing, and Restoration (TPHHR) will offer a vigorous workforce development and job skills training program with the goal to propel under-served homeless youth and young adults ages 18-30 in the Washington, D.C., area from a state of dependence and homelessness to long-term economic self-sufficiency through employment permanence. This program is designed to be robust and will offer youth and young adults career pathways to increase their job skills and afford them access to good-paying jobs that will offer them economic security.

TPHHR will partner with the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services Office of Apprenticeship, Information, and Training (OAIT) as we finalized the protocols for program implementation of the TPHHR-Hope Jumpstart workforce development program. This is to ensure the quality of our programming meets the cutting-edge standards of each industry that we will offer training.

TPHHR Board of Directors believes that in order to prevent and end homelessness among youth and young adults, all barriers to employment must be addressed. Our goal is to institute a comprehensive approach to eradicate poverty and give all of those that we serve “hope” by implementing career pathways and occupational skills training programs. This will support youth and young adults with navigating paths to jobs that pay well to ensure that they will not continue to live in poverty. This program is slated for implementation in the last quarter of 2022. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated via our website with highlights as we move closer to the date of the program implementation.
